The Torridon Range Expedition: March 2019 Congratulations to John McLaughlin for once again organising a challenging (but highly enjoyable) hillwalking trip to Scotland during the St. Patricks weekend. Those who undertook the trip were  Oliver Dennehy,        Jim O’Leary,          John McLaughlin,  John Murphy,            Dave Twomey,       Mark Vaughan.  On Sat Mar 16th we paid a return visit to Quinnag, which some of us had climbed in 2017.  This time we ascended (and steeply descended!) three peaks that we couldn’t include on the previous trip due to heavy rain & strong winds. On St.Patrick’s Day we drove south to the base of Beinn Alligin in the Torridon range - but due to overnight heavy snowfall we were advised not to ascend due to possible avalanches.  Instead we opted for a nearby alternative – but much safer – climb which, despite 40+ MPH wind gusts, provided us with some with great views S.W. as far as the Isle of Skye. Once again, Many Thanks to John McLaughlin for everything......
